Saturday in NYC

This year I have been on a quest to focus a little more on ME and do things that make me happy.  One thing that makes me happy is spending time with my girlfriends!  I am trying to schedule a girl’s night (or day) every couple months.  It’s great to get a few hours away from the kids and the stress of mommying, and just let my hair down and relax with my ladies!

Saturday we had an awesome girl’s day in NYC!
We had coffee in Bryant Park.  The weather was gorgeous!

Went to lunch at Dos Caminos

And saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Broadway!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was great, and I definitely recommend it if you’re a fan of the movie.  The sets were great, the Oompa Loompa were AWESOME and the man playing Willie Wonka was perfect!  There are some fresh takes on the characters and a few variations to the story line, but it’s the same general premise as the movie.  It’s good for adults AND kids (there were FAR more adults there than children, so if you don’t have kids, don’t feel weird about going.  It’s truly for everyone!).

After the show, we sat in Bryant Park sipping iced coffees and waiting for our bus to arrive.   And that’s when it happened.  I barely felt it, but I KNEW.  A quick swipe of my hand to my head confirmed it.  A damn bird pooped in my hair!
Thankfully my friend Sommer quickly cleaned the poo out of my hair and no one was the wiser!  You can bet I showered and washed my hair as soon as I got home!

All in all, it was a great day with great friends and just what I needed to refresh my soul!  Music, food, and friends.  Is there anything better?

What are some of your favorite things to do with your girlfriends?

  1. I have been to the city so many times and have YET to see a show! I would love to just can’t seem to fit it in. Also, LOVE Bryan park they offer so much entertainment, music and shopping!

  2. I think I need to plan a trip to NYC soon! Looks like you had a ton of fun! I love to go to concerts with my girl friends. We go to small shows with bands no one has ever heard of. Those are great because they are so intimate.

I love a good comment!
